The reason for the outage:
Fairfield needs to perform a maintenance upgrade and security updates to the Global Protect VPN application.
The date and time of the shutdown:
The maintenance will begin at 6am and finish by 8am on Thursday 12/7/23.
Services that will be down:
Users will be unable to VPN into the Fairfield University network using the Global Protect VPN client during this time.
Services that will remain online:
All other services will remain online during this maintenance window.
If everything goes as planned:
After the upgrade is completed, the Global Protect VPN application will be on the most current, and most secure, version.
