The Breakfast Club: Equity and intersectionality when serving first-generation students
Date: 11-08-2019
Time: 08:30 AM
Location: Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Heath Studies Room 411
November 8th Fairfield University will celebrate First Generation Student, faculty, and Staff! First-generation college students are increasing rapidly within institutions of higher education. According to the US Department of Education, 33 percent of higher education students today are the first in their family to attend college. For the majority of these students this creates challenges and potential barriers to success. The Breakfast Club, under the direction of the Office of Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, is inviting you to engage in a conversation on equity and intersectionality when serving first-generation students. Join us on November 8th at 8:30 am in the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies Room 411. For more information contact Yolehema Felican, Associate Director of Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs.
