Dangerous USB Drives - Cybersecurity Tip
Resist the urge to plug in unfamiliar USB drives and devices.
Why?
If you see a USB drive in a parking lot or common area, it could be a trap.
Attackers plant malware-laden USB drives and wait for a curious person to pick up a drive and plug it in. Malicious USB devices can then be used to steal personal and corporate data, infiltrate systems and more.
Keep curiosity in check with common sense.
What do I do if I find a USB drive?
Bring it to the ITS Help Desk (in the library) or Public Safety
