The CAS Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee seeks self-nominations from staff (2) and student (2) nominees to complete our 2023-2024 committee. The DEI Committee in the College of Arts and Sciences is a standing committee to propose, develop, implement, and promote DEI initiatives and action plans with the support and coordination of a DEI Representative designated by the CAS Dean.
The current faculty members of the committee are shown below:
Gwen Alphonso (Politics. 2024)
Jill Smith-Carpenter, Chair (Chemistry & Biochemistry, 2024)
Elizabeth Hohl (History, 2025)
Rachel Robinson-Zetzer (English, 2025)
Zhanar Berikkyzy (Math, 2025)
Committee members can anticipate an approx. 2-3hr/month commitment, with a mixture of zoom and in-person meetings.
Staff members, please send one sentence explaining why you’d like to serve on this committee to us via Elizabeth Hohl: ehohl@fairfield.edu. The Chair of the committee will happily advocate on your behalf to include this service in your performance review.
Students, please send one sentence explaining why you’d like to serve on this committee to Rachel Robinson-Zetzer: rrobinson-zetzer@fairfield.edu. This service is an excellent way to build and develop leadership and interpersonal skills, while also contributing to the inclusive climate of your College and University.
In order to be considered for this important service, your nominations must be received by Monday, September 25th.
