The Art of Arthur Szyk: Call For Student Art Submissions
Art Submissions Inspired By Themes of Social Justice
Deadline for Art Submissions: October 23 (FYE Inspire credit)
Student Art Exhibit & Symposium: November 7
This is a call for student art submissions addressing contemporary issues of social justice through engagement with the Fairfield University Art Museum’s exhibit: In Real Times – Arthur Szyk: Artist and Soldier for Human Rights. It’s an exciting interdisciplinary project which encourages all students to reflect on issues of social justice and human rights, to actively engage with the Art Museum’s Arthur Szyk exhibit, and to create inspired art. Art supplies are readily available for students to use while working in Campus Ministry, located on the lower level of Egan Chapel.
Art submission information and faculty resources for engaging Szyk’s art in the classroom can be found on website: The Art of Arthur Szky: Student Reflections on Social Justice
Students are invited to visit the extraordinary Arthur Szyk exhibit in the Bellarmine Hall Galleries. A first prize winner will be awarded and their artwork will be proudly displayed in the Quick Center’s Walsh Gallery. All student art will be on exhibit in BCC Oakwood Room during the Student Art Exhibit & Symposium on Tuesday, November 7.
This exciting interdisciplinary project is co-sponsored by The Humanities Institute, Religious Studies, Catholic Studies, Sociology & Anthropology, Visual and Performing Arts, and The Bennett Center for Judaic Studies.
