The SBIR and STTR funding mechanism is here to help early-stage technology company’s de-risk their technologies and achieve their minimum-viable-products that can be scaled and commercialized. 11 Federal Agencies fund topics and solicitations around the most compelling needs of modern life and they offer funding that is non-dilutive and aimed at helping solve the most complex technical challenges among inventive start-ups and small businesses. This talk will demystify the “black box” that sometimes surrounds this funding mechanism. Learn about the basics of applying and qualifying for these awards, as well as where to find help in the state if you’re interested in submitting an application.
Michael works directly with Connecticut businesses pursuing non-dilutive funding from SBIR, STTR, and other federal programs, supporting efforts to secure funding that can accelerate research and development efforts. He provides education and guidance, helps founders and executives assess their eligibility for various programs, and connects businesses with agencies throughout the state that can further support their evolving needs.
