Faculty & Staff play an important role in fostering a supportive school culture through building strong connections with students. When students struggle with mental health concerns, it hinders their ability to thrive and succeed both in the classroom and in their daily life.
Numerous surveys show that and too many college students experience moderate to severe psychological distress; and more than half of college students have experienced “overwhelming anxiety”. Faculty & Staff members may be the trusted adult that a student will turn to in distress, or they may notice that a student may be struggling. This presents an opportunity for Faculty & staff members to help students connect to and seek out resources offered at Fairfield.
