Zoom Cloud Recording Retention Policy

Starting February 1, 2023, Zoom cloud recordings older than 1 year (365 days) will automatically be sent to a trash folder for 30 days before being permanently deleted. Note: This policy does not apply to Zoom recordings stored locally on your computer.

ITS implemented an integration between Zoom and Kaltura, a University-supported video streaming tool, in Spring 2022 which backed up all cloud recordings to Kaltura automatically. For recordings older than March, 2022, ITS recommends downloading the files you wish to keep from Zoom and uploading them to Kaltura. Steps to move files from Zoom to Kaltura can be found in the ITS Wiki: Zoom Cloud Recordings and Kaltura My Media.
