The film series continues on October 23 with Irish director Neil Jordan's latest film "Greta" (2018), a psychological thriller. The film stars Isabelle Huppert in the title role of a French piano teacher. Chloe Grace Moretz plays Frances, a recent college graduate who has lost her mother and moves to New York City to work as a waitress. When Frances finds a pocketbook on a subway train, she returns it to Greta in Brooklyn. Greta, in turn, starts stalking the young girl. Jordan's film has some aspects of an adult fairy tale with Greta as the wicked witch and Frances, the innocent orphan who stumbles into the evil woman's clutches and becomes trapped.
Dr. Robert Epstein, who teaches in the English Department and a member of the Irish Studies faculty, will introduce the film and lead the Q. & A. following the screening.
The film series is free and open to the public. Light refreshments
