“Building a Church That Excludes No One: The U.S. Church and Transgender Policies”

In the last several years, more than a dozen dioceses in the U.S. have instituted policies and guidelines that target trans and gender expansive folks in Catholic parishes, schools, and hospitals. We will ask the questions: What do these policies say? Does the Church need these policies? What role do they play in building “a church that excludes no one”? What ought the Church’s policy regarding gender look like in the U.S.?

Featured Panelists: Robert Shine, Associate Director of New Ways Ministry | Michael Sennett, Director of Communications and Coordinator of Social Justice Programming at St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, Chestnut Hill, MA | Kevin C Molloy, Adjunct Faculty in Religious Studies, Fairfield University
