Conducting Your Own Mid-Semester Assessments of Teaching (MAT)

The CAE’s Mid-Semester Assessments of Teaching (MATs) have proven to be an incredibly valuable way for full-time and part-time instructors to gather feedback from students and make teaching modifications within the semester they're conducted. For faculty who missed this semester’s deadline, or would like the flexibility of conducting their own MAT, we encourage you to consider using the self-service MAT. The CAE’s  “do-it-yourself” MAT process allows instructors to gather anonymous information from students on their own. Once you review your results, you can also request a consultation with a CAE staff member if you wish to discuss the feedback.

Complete instructions for using the CAE's MAT template to create your own student survey can be found at https://fairfield.quip.com/2GO9AwESvabz/Conducting-Your-Own-Mid-Semester-Assessments-of-Teaching-MATs-Using-Microsoft-Forms. If you have any problems setting up your own form from our template, please contact us at cae@fairfield.edu. Let us know if we can assist you in thinking through your MAT results!

Sincerely,
