Be Informed - National & International News
The DiMenna-Nyselius Library provides access to many different types of news sources. Here are a few ways to access this content:
- View the list of library databases that contain news sources by selecting “Newspapers” from the Databases type tab on our A-Z Database List. We would also like to highlight our trial for Access World News, which is available through the end of the semester. Access World News offers 8,000 news publications from nearly 200 countries worldwide. Includes major national and international newspapers, as well as local and regional titles. See their “Hot Topics” list from their homepage for current topics and suggested search terms.
- Sign-up for digital subscriptions to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Chronicle of Higher Education. At no cost to you - courtesy of the Library! After signing up from the link on our website with your Fairfield email address, you can access content directly from these sites or download their apps.
- Streaming video
- Films on Demand, provides newsreels and other archival films. Ex: The Long Breakup "explores Ukraine’s struggle to escape Russia’s embrace, leave its Soviet past behind, and become a truly independent country."
- Some library databases may provide audio and video content such as Global Issues in Context. This database also contains articles and primary source documents. See their homepage for information featured on the “Russia-Ukraine Conflict”.
