Film Screening: Shaft (1971), directed by Gordon Parks

Join us for a screening of the 1971 crime noir film “Shaft” at 5pm in the Dogwood Room of the Barone Campus Center! Claudia Calhoun, Assistant Professor of Film, TV, and Media Studies, will introduce the classic of the “blaxploitation” genre of the 1970s. The film’s director, famed photographer and cinematographer Gordon Parks, was a major inspiration to Adger Cowans, whose work is on view in “Adger Cowans: Sense and Sensibility” in the Bellarmine Hall Galleries through June 18.
