Drop-In Sessions - 21-Day Ignatian Racial Equity Challenge

As part of Black History Month, the 21-Day Ignatian Racial Equity Challenge hosted by the Ignatian Solidarity Network begins on Monday, February 7, 2022 and runs through Sunday, February 27, 2022.  Join any time at 21-Day Ignatian Racial Equity Challenge, or fill in the Fairfield University Registration Form.  This Challenge is designed to meet participants where they are on their racial justice journey.  It can be done individually and in groups. 

Anyone interested in journeying with someone through this challenge, can email Kevin Molloy in Campus Ministry –kmolloy@fairfield.edu. Interested participants will be matched with a Campus Minister who will be available to meet one-on-one once a week to unpack the experience. Campus Ministers will participate in the challenge alongside their prayer partners.

We are also offering drop-in sessions so that we can gather in community to reflect on the Challenge: 

Wednesday, February 9, 2022 - 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Join Alpha Sigma Nu student leaders Renée Levesque and Peter Baron to discuss how whiteness and racism are deeply connected.

Thursday, February 10, 2022 – 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Join Yolehema Felican, Associate Director, Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (SDMA), to discuss how understanding anti-blackness is central to recognizing the social, economic, and cultural realities of race in the United States.

Friday, February 11, 2022 – 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Join Feleicia Jeter, Program Coordinator, Student Diversity and Multicultural Affairs (SDMA), to explore microaggressions, along with colorblindness, as problematic in confronting the realities of racism.
