A Discussion about the Recent Ban of Maus & Antisemitism Thurs. 2/10 at 3:30pm

Art Spiegelman’s Maus, one of the most celebrated and critically acclaimed graphic novels of all time, was recently removed from the McMinn County (Tennessee) 8th grade curriculum because of "its unnecessary use of profanity and nudity and its depiction of violence and suicide." The decision has garnered a great deal of attention beyond McMinn County, and inspired conversations about intellectual freedom, racism, antisemitism, and how we talk to young people about difficult topics.
