My Red Lips - Post a pic!
Date: 12-10-2021
Location: BCC
The “My Red Lips” campaign is a Center For Family Justice initiative designed to engage our campus community in a global effort to recognize the United Nations annual international campaign called “16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence” which starts on November 25th, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and runs through December 10th, Human Rights Day.
Violence against women and girls (VAWG) is one of the most widespread, persistent and devastating human rights violations in our world today. We encourage all students, clubs, teams, faculty and staff to stand against gender and sexual violence, and post their own red lipstick photo (self-portrait) while holding an affirmation in support of survivors. The My Red Lips initiative will begin on November 17th (look for us in the BCC) and run through December 10th.
All photos must be black and white with only the red lips highlighted in color. If you're uncomfortable showing your photo, take a photo from the nose/lips down or blur your face. Just remember that lips need to be red and the affirmation must be shown. #redlipsstandagainstviolence.
