COVID-19 Surveillance Testing Requirements for April

Weekly surveillance testing will remain mandatory for the on-campus community throughout the month of April. Failure to test weekly will result in StagCard deactivation and access to campus will be denied. 

Fully vaccinated employees are exempt from the weekly surveillance testing two weeks after their final dose.  Also exempt are employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days.  Proof must be submitted to COVIDHR@fairfield.edu.  

There will be no testing on Sunday and Monday of Easter week, therefore StagCards that are active on April 1, 2021 will remain active until April 10, 2021 to allow opportunity to get tested on campus.

In addition to the Broad on-campus test, we will accept results from private Covid-19 PCR or antigen tests. Private test results only must be submitted to COVIDHR@fairfield.edu.

Reminder About Missed Appointments

In order to minimize wait times, we strongly encourage you to take your test at your designated appointment time. But we understand that, on occasion, you may have a legitimate reason to miss your appointment. If you miss your appointment and are unable to reschedule, you will be permitted to walk in during normal testing hours. However, you will be directed to a separate line for people without an appointment, and the wait time may be longer than normal. Please be prepared to present your appointment confirmation email at time of testing.

Travel Advisory

Mandates and requirements are not currently in place in Connecticut. However, travel is highly discouraged. Different modes of transportation, lodging, dining, and activities during travel carry different levels of risk of exposure to Covid-19. CDC’s “Know Your Travel Risk” guidance helps travelers understand their risk during travel. Activities listed under “Even Less Safe” and “Least Safe” should be avoided when possible.

If you do travel, the University requires that you continue to test weekly upon return. If you do not have a current test, you must submit an external test before resuming the weekly on-campus testing. Also, remember to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of Covid-19 and if you develop symptoms, self-isolate and seek testing.
