"Pope Francis on Neoliberalism and the Global Market: A Better Kind of Politics"

This panel presentation will explain the concept of neoliberalism and its role as the intellectual engine of the global market economy, and then turn to the radical critique of its assumptions presented by Pope Francis in his most recent teaching. His most famous short statement on the topic is brutal: “This economy kills.” Does it, and if so, how so? 

Presenters will include Jocelyn Boryczka, Professor Politics, and Dr. Paul Lakeland, Aloysius P. Kelley S.J. Professor of Catholic Studies.
