The 21-Day Ignatian Racial Equity Challenge hosted by the Ignatian Solidarity Network has begun and runs through Sunday, February 21, 2021.  Join any time at 21-Day Ignatian Racial Equity Challenge, or fill in the Fairfield University Registration Form.

Thursday, February 4, 2021 - 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Join the Center for Social Impact to discuss what being non-racist and anti-racist means in the context of faith and justice.

Friday, February 5, 2021 – 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Join Campus Ministry to discuss prayer as a resource for racial justice, focusing on how Ignatian Spirituality—particularly the Examen—can be an effective tool in addressing our own racial biases and combating racism in society.

Looking Ahead to Week Two

Tuesday, February 9, 2021 – 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Join Prof. Paul Lakeland, Director of the Center for Catholic Studies, in a student-focused dialogue on how the tradition of Catholic Social Teaching informs and challenges the Catholic Church’s record on racial justice, including some insights from Pope Francis’s later letter, Fratelli Tutti, on political love and the importance of dialogue in forming social friendship.

 Wednesday, February 10, 2021 – 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. Join Campus Ministry which will open the space to an honest and vulnerable conversation about how the Catholic Church, the Society of Jesus, and Jesuit Colleges and Universities have been complicit in the U.S.’s original sin of slavery, segregation, and racism.

This Challenge leads up to our Martin Luther King, Jr. Convocation on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. with Cristina Beltrán.
