"Add Women and Stir Transform: Fifty Years of Jesuit Higher Education”
The Center for Catholic Studies continues its focus on 50 years of women undergraduates at Fairfield with this year’s Bellarmine Lecture. Breaking for one year with the custom of inviting a distinguished Jesuit scholar to deliver the lecture, we will hear from a distinguished woman scholar who has spent much of her academic career working with Jesuits at Loyola University Chicago. Susan A. Ross, PhD, is Emerita Professor of Theology at Loyola University Chicago, a prolific author in the field of theology, and a past president of the Catholic Theological Society of America, the largest professional association of theologians in the world. Professor Ross will look at the changes that co-education brought to Jesuit schools, and will argue that the admission of women to Jesuit schools represents an as-yet-unfulfilled vision of transformative education. Please join us for this latest event in our ongoing focus on women at Fairfield.
This lecture is Free and Open to the Public - Please register at www.fairfield.edu/cs
