Theatre Fairfield presents WOMAN AND SCARECROW

Tickets for Woman and Scarecrow are officially on sale! This is Theatre Fairfield’s 2021 Independent Project sponsored by The Jamie Hulley Arts Foundation. Like our past productions this season, the show will be completely virtual. This means it doesn’t matter how far away you are from Fairfield University you will still get a chance to see our production from the comfort of your own home. 

Woman and Scarecrow is by the award-winning British playwright, Marina Carr. A woman, with a stained past that's made her bitter at the world, lies patiently on her deathbed. In her wardrobe looms a deathly entity waiting to take her. Her only companion is Scarecrow, a spiritually-connected being that has accompanied Woman her entire life and now sits with her until the end. Woman and Scarecrow look back at their shared history and bicker over the many choices they've made, slowly coming to terms with their identity. Woman and Scarecrow is a Faustian tale enriched with Carr's poetic dialogue and gothic atmosphere. THE NEW YORK TIMES calls it "a blistering beauty of a play that rages with regret and pitch-black humor at the wasted years of a misspent life." 

The show features favorite Theatre Fairfield actors Kiersten Bjork, '21, Kierstin Jones, '21, and Tracy Ferguson, '22 and is directed by Park Lytle, '21. Meghan Dana, '22, is stage managing with Julianna Gentile, '22, handling costumes, hair, and makeup.

Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for all students, and, as always, gratis for our faculty.
