Organizational Announcement

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Meredith Smith to the position of Associate Dean and Director of Residence Life as of January 4, 2021. In this role, Meredith provides strategic direction and oversight to the various functions within the Office of Residence Life and oversees the Division of Student Life assessment efforts. Meredith will collaborate with offices throughout the University to ensure that residential services are effectively integrated with institutional priorities.

Meredith joined the Fairfield University community in July 2010. Over the last decade, Meredith has held various leadership positions included the Associate Director of Residence Life with direct oversight of all living and learning initiatives. In 2013, she was awarded the Ignatian Medal for Outstanding New Professional by JASPA and regularly presents at regional and national professional conferences. In collaboration with academic affairs, Meredith has successfully grown our first-year living and learning honors and STEM residential communities while strengthening the residential college program.

Meredith received her bachelors from Wellesley College in History and a masters in College Student Personal from University of Maryland. She is presently pursuing her PhD from Fordham University.
