2021 Open Enrollment
2021 Open Enrollment
To: All Benefit Eligible Faculty and Staff of Fairfield University
2021 Open Enrollment will be in effect from November 9th through November 25th and will be completed in Workday. The Open Enrollment period is the time each year that benefit-eligible employees may amend their insurance plan selections based upon their personal needs and anticipated healthcare expenses for the coming year. All new elections will take effect on January 1, 2021.
Employees who are not making changes to their choice of plan, or adding or deleting dependents, do not have to take any action. However, please note that the Medical Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Account (DCA) contributions must be renewed annually, or no funds will be contributed through payroll deduction.
All benefit changes must be entered through the self-service module in Workday. The Open Enrollment task will be in your Workday Inbox starting on November 9th. Employees who are not making changes during Open Enrollment, do not have to take any action, and the Open Enrollment task will disappear from your Workday Inbox once Open Enrollment has been finalized on November 25th.
There are no modifications to our current medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision plan designs scheduled for the coming year.
At this time the 2021 FSA contribution limits remain at $2,750 for the Medical Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and $5,000 for the Dependent Care Account (DCA), as no changes have yet to be announced.
The 2021 HSA contribution limits including employer contributions are increasing to $3,600 for a single person and $7,200 for a family of two or more. There is an additional catch-up allowance of $1,000 for people age 55 (or turning 55 anytime during 2021) and older.
