You Can't Say That: A short history of limiting speech and expression in the United States
Since our founding, American governments, corporations and individuals have successfully sought to limit - and extinguish - free communication of facts, art forms and opinions. This discussion will review those limitations, from the Constitutional Convention to the Age of Trump. Class discussion will allow for an open dialogue on landmark “free speech” events capturing Connecticut and the national media’s concerns and contested viewpoints.
