Holly Bass creates solo and ensemble performances that challenge our understanding of art’s value and purpose in our society, and disrupts business as usual while highlighting shared human connections. Jazmine Hayes moves through the dialogics of the African diaspora and themes of spirituality, woman-ness and transformation to preserve Black histories. Wanda Raimundi-Ortiz dissects the cultural and social constructs of otherness. Through her visual and performance work, Raimundi-Ortiz rebelliously claims space within establishments not designed for the cultural other. Niama Safia Sandy, is a New York-based cultural anthropologist, curator, musician and essayist. Her curatorial practice draws on the visual, written and performative arts, chiefly those of the Global Black Diaspora. Her aim is to leverage history – to tell stories we know in ways we have not yet thought to tell them and to lift us all to a higher state of historical, ontological and spiritual wholeness in the process.
