Fairfield University's Reading and Language Development Program features an exclusive partnership with Wilson Reading Systems, the most widely used reading intervention program in the nation.
Candidates from our degree and certificate programs, including candidates from across the country that are enrolled in our Dyslexia Interventionist Certificate program, are preparing to engage a 12-month supervised practicum experience designed to prepare them to earn their Wilson Reading Level I Certification.
The Reading and Language Development Program is inviting Connecticut's public and private schools and parents to refer students for participation in this supervised practicum experience.
Parents are required to make a 12-month commitment to the intervention clinic, which will include 60-90 minute lessons provided 3x/week per a mutually agreeable schedule.
All candidates are supervised by a Wilson Credentialed Trainer and the intervention experience features a hands-on approach in which students will have access to their own set of student resources and manipulatives.
If you should have any questions about this clinic, please email Dr. Jule McCombes-Tolis, Director of Reading and Language Development: jmccombes-tolis@fairfield.edu.
