Seeking Campus Partners to assist with Virtual Orientation
Date: 06-05-2020
Time: 05:00 PM
Location: Zoom
Dear Campus Partners,
The Office of Student Engagement Orientation Team is looking for volunteers to facilitate our Parent/Guardian Small-Group Chats on Zoom during Virtual Orientation this year for the first-year class of 2024.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the Chats, they serve as a touch point for Parents/Guardians to ask any questions that they may have, and to connect with each other. Roughly 15—20 parents/guardians will be paired up with a Facilitator (hopefully you!) and an NSL. These are informal chats (no PowerPoint presentations and we do not expect you to know everything about everything). We do, however, want you to feel prepared to talk about certain topics, so we provide a ton of information ahead of time (on zoom) to help prepare you to feel comfortable facilitating the conversations.
We are looking for roughly 20-25 facilitators, with the time commitment being the 1 hour session during Orientation, plus attendance at 1 of 2 Zoom training's prior to Orientation (to review what to expect/go over during the actual session)We would, of course, love to have you for all 3 Orientation Sessions, but we understand if you can’t make that commitment.
The Small-Group Chats are scheduled for the following dates/times:
Session A: Thursday, June 18th @ 1:00pm-2:00pm (Zoom)
Session B: Tuesday, June 23rd @ 7:00pm-8:00pm (Zoom)
Session C: Wednesday, June 24th @ 4:45pm-5:45pm (Zoom)
The Training's (choose one) are scheduled for the following dates/times:
Monday, June 8th @ 1:00 pm on Zoom or Tuesday, June 9th @ 12:00 pm on Zoom
