The Islamic World Studies program is pleased to present an evening lecture with Dr. Sylvia Chan-Malik, Associate Professor of American Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University. Join us as she discusses her book “Being Muslim: A Cultural History of Women of Color in American Islam,” in which she explores constructions of Muslim womanhood, Black protest religion, and social activism.
