In this timely lecture, Dr. Connolly will discuss the current state and future of the liberal arts in an increasingly complex social and political environment, and how public funding for higher education remains a keystone of a robust democracy.
Dr. Joy Connolly has served as President of the American Council of Learned Societies since 2019. Prior to joining the ACLS, Dr. Connolly served as provost and interim president of The Graduate Center of The City University of New York, as well as dean for the humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and director of the College Core Curriculum at New York University.
