Network Upgrade: Phase 2 - Network Hardware Replacement – July 21 – July 25

During the week of 7/21, ITS, in partnership with our partners, ComNet & 443 Technologies, will perform the network cutover for the following buildings as part of our Network Upgrade project. This critical step will involve a one-day, building-wide network outage (Data, Voice, and Wi-Fi) in the following buildings:
  • 7/21/25 – Dulles Hall
  • 7/21/25 – Regis Hall
  • 7/21/25 – Gonzaga Hall
  • 7/22/25 - Barlow Road Gate House
  • 7/22/25 - Townhouse 17
  • 7/22/25 – Campion Hall
  • 7/23/25 - Koslow Center / Southwell
  • 7/23/25 - Batting Cage
  • 7/23/25 - University Field
  • 7/24/25 - Townhouse 13
  • 7/24/25 - Maintenance Complex
  • 7/24/25 - Loyola Hall
  • 7/24/25 - Checkpoint Main Station
  • 7/24/25 - Softball Field
  • 7/25/25 - Lessing Field
  • 7/25/25 - Baseball Field
  • 7/25/25 - Jogues Hall (Wellness Center)
Recommendation

As this cutover will result in a complete network outage for the entire day, we strongly recommend working from home or utilizing off-campus locations, if possible. No network-dependent services, including Wi-Fi, will be available in the affected buildings during this time. Please plan accordingly to minimize disruptions to your work or activities.

What to Expect
  • Areas Impacted: All areas within the listed buildings, including classrooms, conference rooms, dorm rooms, hallways, offices, and shared spaces.
  • Duration: The outage will last most of the day listed above.
  • Disruptions: Complete loss of network connectivity (data, voice, and Wi-Fi) for the duration of the cutover. Contractors may also require access to various areas to finalize equipment upgrades.

Next Steps

This network cutover completes the infrastructure improvements initiated during the low-voltage wiring replacements in July. Once completed, the upgraded network will provide enhanced reliability and performance across campus. We will notify you of any changes to the schedule or additional details as they become available.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we finalize this essential upgrade to our network infrastructure. For questions or concerns, please contact Alex Romans, Director of Infrastructure, or John Lombardi, CTO.
