Network Upgrade: Phase 1 - Low-Voltage Wiring Replacement – July 19 - July 25

Network Upgrade: Phase 1 - Low-Voltage Wiring Replacement – July 19 - July 25

The week of July 19th, ITS, in partnership with our contractor, ComNet, will continue to perform low-voltage wiring (data & voice) replacements in the following buildings as part of our Network Upgrade project.
  • Donnarumma
  • School of Nursing
  • Bannow Science Center
  • Jogues Hall
  • Bowman Hall
  • Langguth Hall
  • Townhouse 6
  • Townhouse 14
  • Townhouse 15
  • Townhouse 16
  • Softball Field
  • Baseball Field
  • Checkpoint Main Station
Recommendation
If you are located in one of the affected buildings, consider working from home or utilizing other campus spaces, if possible. While Wi-Fi will remain fully operational in these buildings during the low-voltage construction, the contractors may need access to office space, conference rooms, etc, to complete the cabling work. While we understand this is impactful, this work is essential to strengthen our network infrastructure and ensure reliable connectivity.

What to Expect
  • Areas Impacted: Classrooms, Conference Rooms, Dorm Rooms, Hallways, Offices, Shared Spaces.
  • Duration: Wiring replacement will occur over several days, between July 19 and July 25.
  • Disruptions: Contractors will require access to various areas, which may cause minor disruptions.
Next Steps

This work prepares the buildings for the network upgrade, which will involve a one-day building-wide outage later this summer. Further details, including the upgrade date, will be shared as available.

We appreciate your understanding as we improve our network infrastructure. If you have questions, contact Alex Romans, Director of Infrastructure, or John Lombardi, CTO.
