Self-assessment performance review available in Workday

Dear Staff and Administration,

We are officially kicking off the annual performance review process for FY25 and launching the FY26 goal-setting cycle in Workday. We are pleased to share that we have made enhancements to the performance review process that continue to streamline the workflow and improve user satisfaction.

In addition, this year, the core four competencies that were part of previous annual review processes have been replaced with new University principles. These principles will serve as a foundation for employees when setting their FY26 goals. They are:

  1. Be Bold, Think Deeply, and Seek More
  2. Be Accountable
  3. Be Adaptable
  4. Be Inclusive and Welcoming

These University Principles will appear in the Workday module after you complete your performance appraisal and during the goal-setting process.

Beginning Monday, May 5, 2025, your self-assessment task will appear in your Workday inbox. After you submit your self-assessment, your manager will complete their review and assign a rating. Once finalized, the review will return to your inbox for acknowledgment. You will be able to enter your FY26 goals once your performance self-evaluation has been completed and approved.

Please take note of the key dates in this year’s performance evaluation and goal-setting timeline:

  • Monday, May 5, 2025: Performance self-evaluations launch in Workday
  • Monday, June 2, 2025: Deadline for self-evaluations and manager approvals
  • Friday, August 1, 2025: Deadline for submitting FY26 goals and manager approvals

The performance module in Workday includes step-by-step guidance for:

  • Completing self-assessments
  • Setting and approving goals (employees and managers)
