Approved Providers for University Sponsored International Travel: Scholartrip and CISI

Scholartrip

All Fairfield University faculty/staff/students approved for a University Sponsored International Travel Program, must follow the University’s ITP requirement to book roundtrip flights through the designated travel agency, Scholartrip. The flights Scholartrip will offer Fairfield travelers are a class of ticket that provides changeable and refundable options. Global Fairfield will provide the travelers access to the Scholartrip inquiry request form to begin the flight booking process.

CISI

To support a healthy and safe experience, Fairfield University provides a health insurance and assistance plan to all approved travelers participating on a University Approved International program. This is not an optional benefit; every traveler is enrolled in the CISI insurance plan. All participants will be automatically enrolled and will receive an individual ID card that includes contact information for plan services. There are two ways the coverage is paid for. One is for travelers that are on an approved study abroad programs or group travel programs where the cost is included in the program fee. The second is for individuals on approved travel who will be required to pay Global Fairfield for the cost of the plan according to their dates of travel. Travelers are strongly advised to become familiar with the CISI Plan’s benefits and features. CISI also provides information on the restricted activities that are not covered by this plan of which all insured should become familiar. It is strongly recommended that Faculty/Group Leaders remind participants of these restricted activities during the arrival orientation and as necessary throughout the program.
