Windows 11 - Process for Secondary Devices

ITS computer policy provides a primary personal computer (Windows or Apple laptop) to faculty and staff for official University business. In some cases, individuals request and are granted a secondary computer to use for individual or departmental University business.  

For security purposes, each year primary devices are replaced as devices approach the end of usability; this year ITS is planning to refresh secondary non-primary devices as well, based on risk assessment and budget availability. To help prioritize secondary-computer replacements, ITS will send departments a computer use-case survey to complete for all non-primary computers. Based on the information provided, we will evaluate whether funding can be secured to replace eligible devices. 

Non-primary computers that cannot be upgraded to Windows 11 will be prioritized for replacement, due to security concerns.
