We are thrilled to celebrate First-Gen Week from November 4-8 with events dedicated to our students' success, inspiration, and connection! Each day brings a unique opportunity to engage, share, and thrive as we honor the accomplishments and journeys of our first-generation stags. Please mark your calendars for these special events and help spread the word to encourage strong student participation!

Monday, November 4
Mental Health (FYE Thrive) with NAMI
Time: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Location: Lower Level Barone Campus Center (LLBCC)
Join us for a session on mental health wellness specifically designed to support first-gen students in maintaining a balanced, thriving college experience.

Tuesday, November 5
Alumni Letters & Postcards to First-Gens! (Connect)
Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Location: BCC 100 - Office of Student Diversity & Multicultural Affairs
Come by to write personal letters and postcards for alumni who were also the first in their families to attend college! Connect your experiences with words of encouragement.

Wednesday, November 6
First Generation Week Mixer (Students, Faculty, and Staff) (Connect) & Kahoot Night (Inspire)
Time: 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Location: BCC 100 - Office of Student Diversity & Multicultural Affairs and the Commuter Collab Lounge
Enjoy an evening connecting with fellow first-gens at our Mixer, followed by an exciting Kahoot game to test your knowledge on available resources! Don’t miss out on the chance to win swag and build connections with peers in the first-gen community.

First-Gen Tabling Event
Time: 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Location: Near Dunkin
Stop by our tabling event to test your knowledge on famous First-Gen individuals!

Students & Faculty - Meet Fellow First-Gens on Campus (DEI)
Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Location: Lower Level Barone Campus Center (LLBCC)

Join other first-generation Stags in a welcoming environment to connect with peers who have had similar experiences and discover support resources from members of our faculty.

Friday, November 8
Big Celebration: Trials & Triumphs Conversation
Time: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Location: Dogwood Room
Join us for a celebration of first-gen successes, featuring a panel presentation, recognition gifts for first-gen students, and conversations about resilience and accomplishments.

Hear from Egan School of Nursing & Health Studies faculty who were the first in their families to pursue higher education. Our panelists will share their personal journeys, challenges, and triumphs in navigating the world of higher education.

This event is designed to inspire and provide insights for first-gen students on overcoming obstacles, building support networks, and thriving in academia.
