OPEN STUDIOS

Wednesday Nov. 6, 4:30- 7:00 pm, Loyola Hall, lower level

Come see studio art projects made by our creative and individualistic students in their studio art classes. Refreshments will be served. Organized by the Studio Art Program with Leo McNamee ’25, and the Magis Core, all of the studios and galleries in Loyola Hall will be displaying in-progress and completed works of art by students currently enrolled in studio classes. This event is free and open to the public.

 The Vincent J. Rosivach Annual Lecture in Ancient Mediterranean Studies

“Antiracist Curricular Reform: Big and Small Ideas for 21st Century Humanities”


Monday November 11, 5:00 – 6:30 pm, the Oak Room of the Barone Campus Center

Dr. T.H.M Gellar-Goad (Wake Forest University) and Dr. Caitlin Hines (University of Cincinnati) share their experiences and lessons learned in co-creating CLASSICS BEYOND WHITENESS at Wake Forest University, an antiracist project that celebrates the contributions of Black Classicists, explores reception of the ancient world by communities of color, and aims at making Classical Studies more diverse and inclusive. This event is free and open to the public.

A faculty workshop to develop curricula that meet SJR student learning outcomes will be held before the lecture on November 11 from 3:30-4:30 pm in Canisius 300A. No prior registration is required.
