Work Opportunities for F-1 Students
Did you know that F-1 students can start working on campus from their very first semester? Here’s what they need to know about on-campus work:
- On-Campus Work: F-1 students are permitted to work part-time (up to 20 hours per week) during the fall and spring semesters. During the summer and official breaks, they can work full-time.
- Social Security Card: To be paid for on-campus work, students will need a Social Security card. Our office will assist them in applying for this card.
There are many visa restrictions and requirements, so we always recommend that students check in with our office for personalized guidance and support.
Upcoming Info Session
To help students better understand on-campus work opportunities and F-1 visa requirements, we will be hosting our first on-campus info session on September 10th at 3 p.m., with more sessions to follow throughout the fall. This will provide essential details and answer any questions they may have.
We look forward to supporting our international students and helping them make the most of their academic experience here.
