Windows 11 Upgrade on the Horizon
Over the next year ITS will start moving computers from Windows 10 to Windows 11. This new version of Windows is all about making things easier and faster for you, with some cool new features to explore. Going forward all refresh computers will be deployed with Windows 11.
What Does This Mean for You?
- A Smooth Experience: We're working hard to make sure this change is smooth and easy for everyone.
- Staying Informed: We'll keep you updated with simple, clear information on what's happening and when.
What's Happening Next?
- Testing It Out: First, we'll test Windows 11 with a small group to make sure everything works great. Email Dashton@fairfield.edu if you want to be part of our pilot group.
- Gradual Change: We will automatically upgrade lab and classroom computers. We will then make the Windows 11 upgrade available in “Software Center” for self-service upgrades. If your computer is not upgraded by October 2025 ITS will start initiating automatic upgrades on computers.
