IT Security Update: Change Healthcare Update from Aetna

The Information Security team has been providing updates to the community with information as we receive it regarding a recent cybersecurity incident involving Change Healthcare, a widely used healthcare data services provider.

The University received a letter from Aetna on June 21, 2024, that provides additional information:

“Change Healthcare has offered to provide notice to all impacted individuals as well as free credit monitoring. Aetna's intention is to delegate notice obligations to Change Healthcare.  This will include notice to impacted members and regulators. Change Healthcare has published a website with additional information about their notification plans which may be helpful to you.  Our current understanding is that notices will be sent on a rolling basis beginning next month.”
