A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. James M. Bowler, S.J.

Dear Friends of the Murphy Center,

It was with great sadness that we at the Murphy Center learned of the passing of Rev. James M. Bowler, S.J., on March 20, 2024 at the Campion Center in Weston, Mass. He was 84 years old.

Fr. Bowler served the Fairfield University and Prep community for many years, most recently as the founder and former director of our Murphy Center for Ignatian Spirituality and as the University’s facilitator for Catholic and Jesuit Mission.

A Memorial Mass to celebrate the life and legacy of Fr. Bowler will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Fairfield University’s Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola. A reception will immediately follow, in the Barone Campus Center Oak Room.
