WHAT IS “MODERN-DAY SLAVERY” AND HOW CAN WE FIGHT IT?
"Combatting Forced Labor and Modern-Day Slavery in Global Supply Chains: Evidence from the Apparel and Electronics Sectors" 

The lecture will discuss evidence and examples of forced labor and modern slavery in global supply chains and share successes and challenges from Verité's work to document and combat these labor abuses in a variety of sectors, including apparel and electronics.

Our featured speaker Erin Klett is Senior Program Director, Research Innovation at Verité, a global NGO with a mission to ensure decent, safe and fair working conditions for workers worldwide. With 20 years experience, she currently leads projects to promote advances in forced labor measurement and the tracing of goods made with ethical labor practice. She has served on the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking and as a member of an expert working group established by the International Labor Organization on forced labor measurement.
