Global Fairfield and the School of Engineering and Computing have carefully developed semester programs abroad that will support a student's academic trajectory. Students can be confident that when attending these international universities, that the prescribed curriculum and approved coursework will keep them on track to graduate as planned.
Fairfield offers two different semester programs for junior level students in the School of Engineering and Computing.
- Galway, Ireland – University of Galway is ranked among the top 2% of universities in the world and is recognized as being one of the best universities for their international outlook. Students in mechanical, biomedical and computer science majors may attend a custom program in the fall term. This semester experience can lead to the 4+1 Masters pathway in:
· Biomedical Engineering
· Artificial Intelligence
· Bioinformatics
· Data Science

2. Barcelona, Spain with Jesuit Partner IQS - Owing to its scientific tradition, IQS provides a practical and rigorous education. IQS has a strong relationship and association with science and business/industry. The fall semester offers mechanical engineering majors with curriculum that complements and supplements their Fairfield requirements.
Short-Term Options:
Students are able to complete magis core or elective courses over the summer or winter break through a variety of Fairfield’s Global and Program Partners. With proper planning students may participate in more than one program over their four years at Fairfield.
· Global has a long list of Summer approved programs offering coursework in english, environmental studies, history, modern languages, religion and vpa with partners in Aix-en-Provence, Athens, Galway, Florence, London and Salamanca.
· January Intersession is also a terrific time for students to earn 3 credits with a Tier 2 visual and performing arts core approved faculty led course in Florence or with one of our three partners that offer standing January programs.
