Lunchtime Talk:
What’s Going on in the World?
COVID-19 & PEPFAR in the Global South
Please join us TODAY - Tuesday, February 27th at 12:00 pm in the BCC Lower Level. The International Studies/Business Program will host its first of three Lunchtime Talks of the spring titled, What’s Going On In The World? COVID-19 & PEPFAR in the Global South. Engaging panelists include Fairfield’s own, Dr. Gru Han, Assistant Professor of Practice, International Studies Program/DSB Management and Patrick W. Kelley, Visiting Professor, Biology/Health Studies Program.
This is an opportunity for students and faculty interested in conversation centered on how COVID-19 was handled in the Global South concerning inequality to access vaccines and medications. The conversation will also focus on our panelists’ experience in Latin America and Africa including how the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), established by the US government, happened, and why continued commitment is vital, especially for the Global South. We will learn how PEPFAR’s resulting package of testing, prevention, and treatment is credited with saving millions of lives.
Please join us TODAY - Tuesday, February 27th at 12:00 pm in the BCC Lower Level.
Lite fare and refreshments will be served.
