CAE Leadership Development Cohort - Spring 2024

The Center for Academic Excellence invites new or beginning campus leaders to join the CAE’s Leadership Development Cohort. We welcome mid-level leaders from our faculty and staff including new or “newish” department chairs, program/center directors, and assistant/associate deans to join the 2024 cohort. All are welcome!

The leadership cohort meets monthly throughout the academic year to support new leaders as they develop their confidence and skills in leading and managing departments, programs, centers, or schools. As a community of learners, we focus on issues and challenges that emerge from participants’ work, as well as pressing issues in academic leadership, such as: managing conflict and difficult conversations, developing a vision; time management and delegation; building community; and facilitating meetings. Together, we develop a supportive community where we can share our questions and uncertainties, jointly problem-solve, and discuss best practices. Monthly meetings begin January 2024.
