Fairfield University is dedicated to providing a positive and healthy work environment for its faculty and staff and maintains a workplace free from drug and alcohol abuse. The Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendment of 1989 (Public Law 101-226) (the “Act”) requires that all institutions of higher education certify that they have implemented a program that prevents the possession, use, and distribution of illegal drugs and the abuse of alcohol by students and employees, as a condition of receiving funds or any other form of financial assistance under any federal program.
